About Bayside Acupuncture

Bayside Acupuncture provides treatment in a comprehensive range of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) modalties.

The human body can be likened to a highly complex electrical circuit. Like any electrical circuit, it must be kept in good working order if it is to function effectively. If the human circuit breaks down the result is illness.

Each person has energy circulation. To maintain good health, it is essential for the body's energy, as well as the blood, to circulate in a continuous or unobstructed manner. The pathways through which the energy flows are called meridians and these circulate through the organs and tissues of the body. The energy which flows along the meridians is called the Qi (Chi). These meridians were mapped out by the ancient Chinese.

TCM combines Oriental massage therapy, acupuncture, moxibustion heat therapy and Chinese herbal medicine for an effective, safe and wholistic approach to healthcare.

TCM can treat successfully many common and complex ailments without the need for Western pharmaceutical drugs that have undesirable side effects. Simply click on the links on the left to discover more about each.

In additional to treatments, Bayside Acupuncture offers detailed consultation to patients in order to prescribe a wide range of Chinese herbal medicines. We stock over 120 different herbal formulas to cater for specific, individual conditions. We also stock a range of children's formulas (sweetened with stevia), herbal linaments and practitioner only range (metagenics) nutritional supplements.

Eeka Berghofer

Bachelor of Health science (Acupuncture), Cert.IV in TCM Remedial Massage (An Mo Tui na) and oriental massage, Cert IV in Remedial therapies (Massage therapy), Member AACMA

Eeka is a qualified, professional and enthusiastic Chinese medical practitioner. Her passion for Natural medicine, healing and conscious living began at a very young age where she discovered an instinctive ability to work with people and help others with their health and well-being. Eeka instantly resonated with Chinese Medicine, this ancient form of healing was a complete, tested and developed form of health care which balances out any condition, internal and external and brings about energetic equilibrium in body and mind. She understood that all dis-ease is a blockage of the body's natural flow and distribution of energy through the meridians (our electrical circuit) and treating the cause of this disharmony is her aim. Eeka completed her Bachelor Degree in Health Science (Acupuncture) at ACNM in early 2006 and has now been working in the profession of natural healing for approximately 10 years.

Eeka incorporates Chinese herbs, cupping, moxibustion, massage and nutritional/supplementation advice into her Acupuncture treatments. She is also a Master Reiki practitioner and suggests spiritual healing as an adjunct therapy for people who have emotional blockages as the underlying cause of their disharmony.

Eeka specialises in women's health, infertility, pregnancy, birthing and post-partum disorders. Her passion for natural therapies and astrology has lead to much research and practical knowledge in the area of natural fertility management, conscious conception and natural contraception methods. Her own personal experience of pregnancy and an empowering, euphoric homebirth has given her a great desire and confidence to teach, heal, and inspire women on fertility issues and their birthing journeys.

In June 2009 Eeka and her partner David King became the proud new owners of Bayside Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Clinic in Brunswick Heads.
